OMG best place we have been all week. We are staying at the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale this week and this is one of the restaurants on property. We have eaten at all of them and the Bourbon Steak house far outweighs the others. I’m not even one to like a steakhouse, and the food here is delicious. Our server Derick was so amazing. His recommendations were all delicious. Who would’ve thought a Twinkie type appetizer with caviar would just melt in your mouth? Not this girl, but I could eat a handful of those. All of the staff were so fun, respectful and kind. The presentation of the food made it all the more enjoyable. To end our evening, we had a fun dessert which was set on fire table side. One of the managers Kevin came by and checked on us and had a great conversation with us. All in all, it was such a great experience and the best place to go on property. If you end up choosing the Bourbon Steak house don’t forget to ask for Kevin as your server. He was so fun and kind. We’ll be returning here if we visit Scottsdale again -we highly recommend.
Overview
Walking into Bourbon Steak at 7575 E Princess Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, United States feels like stepping into a polished but relaxed version of a classic American steakhouse. I’ve eaten at a lot of upscale diners over the years, both for work and for pure enjoyment, and this spot stands out because it balances luxury with comfort in a way that doesn’t feel forced or intimidating. The dining room hums with quiet confidence, and the service team moves with the kind of rhythm you usually only see in restaurants that are very sure of what they’re doing.
The menu is clearly built around premium cuts of beef, but it doesn’t stop there. USDA Prime steaks are the headline, which already puts the kitchen in the top tier of American steakhouses, considering Prime accounts for only a small percentage of all graded beef in the United States. According to data from the USDA, fewer than 3 percent of steaks earn that designation, and you can taste the difference here. During one visit, I watched a server explain the steak aging process to a nearby table, breaking down how controlled aging enhances tenderness and deepens flavor without overwhelming the natural richness of the meat. That kind of explanation builds trust, especially for diners who want to understand what they’re paying for.
What really elevates the experience is the way the kitchen applies classic techniques with modern restraint. Steaks are cooked using high-heat methods that create a clean crust while keeping the interior exactly where you want it. I once ordered a ribeye cooked medium, and it arrived evenly warm from edge to center, which is harder to pull off than most people realize. Culinary institutes often point out that temperature control is the biggest challenge in steak preparation, and Bourbon Steak consistently gets it right. That level of precision usually reflects strong leadership in the kitchen and well-trained line cooks.
Beyond beef, the menu offers seafood, seasonal sides, and sauces that feel intentional rather than decorative. Truffle butter, house-made steak sauces, and thoughtfully prepared vegetables give diners options to customize without cluttering the plate. This approach aligns with what chefs associated with organizations like the James Beard Foundation often emphasize: let the core ingredient shine, then support it with smart, restrained additions.
Reviews from both locals and travelers frequently highlight the service, and that matches my own experience. Servers don’t just recite specials; they ask the right questions and tailor recommendations based on how you like your steak or whether you’re sharing dishes. During a business dinner, our server spaced courses perfectly so conversation never felt rushed, which matters more than people admit. Timing is part of hospitality, and it’s something this restaurant clearly trains for.
The location in Scottsdale also plays a role in its appeal. Surrounded by resorts and high-end shopping, it attracts a mix of destination diners and regulars. That blend keeps the atmosphere lively without turning it into a scene. While Bourbon Steak has locations in other cities, this Scottsdale dining room feels tuned to its surroundings, reflecting the area’s love for refined but approachable experiences.
There are a few limitations worth noting. Prices are on the higher end, which may not suit casual weeknight plans, and reservations are often necessary during peak seasons. Still, for diners who value expertly prepared steak, knowledgeable service, and a menu built on proven culinary principles, those trade-offs feel reasonable. Everything here points to a restaurant that understands its craft, respects its ingredients, and delivers consistently, which is exactly what seasoned steak lovers look for when choosing where to dine.

Bourbon Steakhouse at the Fairmont in Arizona is absolutely amazing. The Christmas ambiance is beautiful and creates such a warm and festive atmosphere. After dinner we took a walk around the site to see the lights and it made the whole evening feel magical. Dinner was outstanding with incredible service and flawless flavors. For Thanksgiving they offer a full course meal for one hundred fifty dollars that includes a traditional turkey Thanksgiving meal and it is truly worth every bit. I cannot wait to come back.
Everything was worth it! We were celebrating our anniversary and all the staff made it feel more special, even gave us a card with everyone’s signature which we found so thoughtful and sweet! The service was TOP NOTCH. Our server Alan (hope i spelled it right) was also amazing! Gave us complimentary glass of rose and have us try the trio fries! Compliments to the chef as well as the food was also amazing. 10/10! Not just a dinner but a whole amazing EXPERIENCE!
The PlumpJack Takeover Dinner at Bourbon Steak Scottsdale was truly an unforgettable experience — elegant, creative, and flawlessly executed from start to finish. The Hamachi Duo set the tone with bright, balanced flavors, followed by the indulgent Duck Confit Mezzaluna with chestnut, gruyère, and foie gras emulsion. The Beef Duo — mishima flat iron and Korean-style short rib — was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and the Dark Chocolate Opera Cake was the most luxurious finale imaginable. For those who don’t drink, Bourbon Steak offered beautifully crafted mocktail pairings for each course, just as thoughtful and complex as the wine selections — a truly inclusive touch. A huge thank you to Jack Miller, Regional VP and GM of Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Doug Pocius, GM of Bourbon Steak, and Caleigh Shade, Lead Sommelier, for creating a dining experience that was not only delicious but genuinely memorable. Five stars — refined, educational, and effortlessly elegant!
Our dinner at Bourbon was outstanding. Our server, Derick, was fantastic. He truly takes hospitality to a new level and crafts a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. He was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine throughout the entire evening. The food was delicious, Chef Andrew does an absolutely incredible job in the kitchen, and each bite was better than the next. The mangers, Pilar and Doug, checked in on us and were so kind which made our experience even more wonderful. We highly recommend dining here!!
What an incredible meal!! Our server Devon was amazing, he made it such a fun experience! He knew exactly what to recommend for the table and had impeccable taste. Beautiful restaurant and the Christmas lights were magical.
First I would like to thank Steve our server and Alysha the bartender for creating such a memorable birthday dining experience! Their attention to detail and ability to be present but not too present is a special talent. We enjoyed watching Alysha craft perfect cocktails from our table in the lounge area while lingering into our meal. Steve was knowledgeable, funny and personable. His recommendations were spot on and much appreciated since this was our first visit (Won’t be our last!) Thank you Bourbon Steak for an unforgettable evening The food, drinks and Staff are all 5 ⭐
I’m local to the area but came in tonight to visit a friend who’s staying here for work. We dined at this lovely spot and I was not disappointed! I went for the lounge hamburger (because, shockingly, I wasn’t in the mood for steak tonight!) and it was so good. We also tried their twist on a caprese salad—complete with puff pastry and amazing pesto—and it was fabulous. The trio of fries with duck fat, a.k.a. their signature bread service, was fun to sample. We liked the salt and vinegar one the best… call us salty, haha. We wrapped up with fresh beignets and butterscotch Macallan sauce—such a treat! We arrived right when they opened, and even in the heart of summer the vibe was awesome. Things were just starting to pick up as we were leaving. The bartender, waiter, and all the service staff were fantastic. I always had what I needed without ever feeling overwhelmed by service. They gave great recommendations, and I’d highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back!
